As the name clearly suggests, the program allows anyone to program the operating system to automatically shut down itself using various settings.

The software can be installed without problems in any Windows operating system, requiring only a few clicks for this. Besides that, it takes up little hard disk space.

The interface of Auto Shutdown Genius is extremely simple and features all the scheduled tasks in a drop-down list. Some sample tasks are included, allowing the user to get more familiar with the software's functions. As such, Auto Shutdown Genius allows shutting down, restarting or putting the system into standby at certain hours, after the computer has been in idle mode for a certain amount of time or if the CPU is not used. Adding new tasks is a simple process, as every option is highly intuitive.

The program features a log window, allowing the user to quickly spot any errors that might appear during the program run. The interface displays in the bottom the CPU usage in real time, as a graph and as a percent number.
